Electrolysis is the ONLY permanent hair removal solution approved by the FDA & the AMA.

  • WHAT IS ELECTROLYSIS?

A small needle or thin metal probe is inserted into the opening of the skin where hair grows (small sacs beneath the skin called hair follicles).

  • Can you remove hair anywhere on the body?

Any hair can be removed except in the ears and in the nose because we have to see what were we are inserting the probes. Electrolysis will permanently remove any color or thickness of hair from anywhere on the body.

  • What is the difference between Laser and Electrolysis?

Laser hair removal uses lasers to emit light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, the light energy is converted to heat, which then damages the hair follicle to slow hair growth. It is most effective on people with light skin and dark hair because the laser targets the dark hairs.

Electrolysis is a procedure performed by an electrologist that involves inserting a probe into the hair follicle, sending a current or chemical into the follicle to cause damage to prevent future hair growth. It can be performed on individuals of any skin color, skin type, hair color and hair type.

  • Does it hurt?

Most patients report minor discomfort, significantly less than the pain of laser. Many people choose to apply a topical numbing agent prior to treatment. We recommend 4-5% lidocaine, or you may ask your physician for a stronger prescription. Apply a thick layer 45-60 minutes prior to appointment on the area to be treated for maximum numbing benefits, cover area with press n seal plastic wrap.

  • Is Electrolysis Permanent?

Electrolysis stands alone as the ONLY permanent hair removal solution approved by the FDA & the AMA.

  • Why do I need multiple sessions?

Electrolysis treats hair most effectively in the active growth stage called anagen stage. There are three main stages of hair growth, anagen, catagen and telogen. During the anagen phase, hair grows actively from the follicle, the second transitional phase is catogen. The last phase is the telogen or resting phase.

All of the hairs that you see are not all of the hairs that you have, you have a unique number of follicles on your body that are all in different stages of growth, if they weren’t, all of your hair would fall out at the same time. Once the area to be treated is cleared (which will be a combination of hairs in the three stages of growth) you will return for treatments on new anagen hairs. Different parts of the face and the body have different hair growth timelines.

  • How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed to clear an area will vary and is dependent on many factors that affect each individual differently.
